I think we're now at the stage where I'm going to look at getting links put on supportive groups sites.
Before I do though, I thought it might be good to have a general discussion about what people want from the board.
Are there any forums you'd like to see? Anything not currently covered that you think should be? That kind of thing.

For me I am more likely to use this board as a resource, rather than a place to chat about stuff. For example I have started a couple of threads around issues I am keen to gain a better self understanding of. I am also interested in the links to articles etc outside of the board itself.
So, as time goes on I would like to see some of the information amalgamated into, perhaps, single posts from threads. Not so much the exploration of issues stuff, perhaps the stuff about groups, resources, that kind of thing.
I think there would be benefit in deleting old threads that are of limited use. Where an issue is explored it is, perhaps, the process of exploration that is of use. So by deleting old stuff you may enable such exploration to happen again, rather than just passive reading of previous interactions. I also think it would also be a good idea to delete unproductive stuff, perhaps like the PN thread. But that's because, as I said, i see the board as a resource for info' first and foremost.
So far so god though, I think, I've learnt stuff!
On that note, some way of offering information on the technical side of computer things is always useful for fools like me.

Thanks Paul.
That's actually pretty close to what I was thinking. (Great minds etc.)
I'll post in more depth on this at the weekend- I'm flat out at the moment.

To go into a bit more detail, I agree with you on this being first and foremost an informational board. I have absolutely no problem with the social pagan forums around, but I think that area is already pretty well covered. I actually think that the board saw a lot more posts when it was set up then it's likely to as a general rule. Both because it was new and shiny and also because of the whole PN drama.
My aim really is for the posts on here to be of good quality (whether discussion, debate or merely information), as opposed to it being a high traffic board as such.
I'll think more on the question of deleting old threads- it's a tricky balance between deleting unnecessary stuff and making sure that you don't delete anything that could be of use in the future. There's also the issue of not wanting people to feel they've been censored- I might look into if it's possible to have a archive section instead.
I do have the ability to edit everyone's posts though. So what I can look at doing is amalgamating any information all in the initial post- the groups section and Troy Southgate might be a sensible place to start.

I honestly prefer small close knit groups with good discussions. Of course it's possible!! Just create an archive board (like any other board on the forum), lock it so no one can post there, and move topics to it as you see fit. **has adminned several proboards forums in the past**

In light of the potential slow movement of the board, would it be possible to receive e-mail notifications when a new subject is created in particular forum? I'm thinking of the recent, useful, thread regarding the OBOD board. I really only stumbled upon this. If I could get an e-mail notification if something is created in that particular forum then that would help me keep my eyes open. it would be a LOT better if I could get a big box of chocolates sent round as well, but I'm not sure if the internet works like that?
Any chance?

That's a really good idea- particuarly as the board is likely to be reactive a lot of the time. Sadly, I don't know if email notification is possible on Proboards or not. Anyone?
